Mark Kendrick leads the design-build process at CMSI, utilizing first-hand knowledge of healthcare facilities management and clinical operations to provide exceptional turnkey project management and client satisfaction. 

With 28 years of industry experience, Mark understands the unique perspective and specialty considerations of CMSI’s clients, and works to ensure high-quality construction services with minimal impact on client operations. He leverages his intimate knowledge of healthcare and clinical workflow to clarify the important specifics of medical equipment installation and replacement from a functionality and operational standpoint. Highly engaged and accountable throughout every project, he excels at directing projects from the initial conceptual stages, into and through construction and medical equipment installation, until final delivery.

Prior to joining CMSI, Mark spent more than a decade working within healthcare clinics leading operations and development, making him highly adept at coordinating and executing project delivery without interrupting patient care or site operations.

As President and founder of CMSI, Richard Scott combines four decades of construction expertise with complete operations knowledge specific to the healthcare industry, in order to deliver impeccable design-build services to the medical community. By developing integral relationships with medical equipment vendors, subcontractor partners, and healthcare operations staff throughout the region, Richard and CMSI continually provide high quality medical construction and renovation services that align seamlessly with client goals. He is responsible for unifying company resources and personnel to move together toward company goals, and leads his team with effective day-to-day internal business strategies. 

Ten years prior to CMSI’s inception, Richard founded Ridge-Valley Contracting Inc., which provides medical, office, retail, industrial and tenant construction and renovation services throughout the Maryland-DC region. Previously, Richard worked for several large Baltimore general contractors, gaining experience in government, medical, and retail construction on projects for the Hahnemann University Hospital, American Cancer Society, United States Senate Office Building, Melvin Simon & Associates, K-Mart Corporate, Trammel Crow Company, Johns Hopkins University, and The Home Depot.

As Director of Business Development at CMSI, Michael Burnett works with decision-makers in the medical community to explore the advantages of using a design-build approach when planning high-tech healthcare building projects. 

Michael regularly meets with both industry partners and potential clients to help them understand the benefits and higher quality results associated with using a design-build specialist for new construction, expansions and renovations, and helps to identify the particular needs of upcoming projects that might benefit from using CMSI as a resource. He excels at working with owners and operations managers to develop projects that deliver state-of-the-art renovations on time and budget, with minimal disruption to the clinical environment.

With more than a decade of both construction and project management experience working on complex projects with consultants, design professionals, architects, civil and structural engineers, Michael has learned how to achieve excellent final results while keeping the important parameters of customer’s needs, budget, timing and quality in the forefront. He maintains continuous oversight of all projects he initiates, ensuring the expectations and goals of CMSI’s clients are thoroughly communicated and met upon completion.

Before joining the CMSI team, Michael was a partner at Impact Energy, providing market analysis of renewable energy and evaluation of the impact of Cap and Trade. He also worked for seven years as Managing Partner at Citadel Construction, leading project development and coordinating design-build construction of office buildings, retail centers, and medical facilities including Diagnostic Imaging and Urgent Care Treatment Centers. He holds both Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Chemical Engineering.
