Moffitt Cancer Center is a non-profit institution commitment to the prevention and cure of cancer. Located at Tampa General Hospital, Moffitt has the Southeast’s largest Blood and Marrow Transplant Program, and is considered the best cancer treatment center in the state of Florida. This project was a five-story addition to the existing hospital. BCH Mechanical completed the full addition and build-out of each floor in a phased AHCA approval method. BCH was able to design assist with Smith, Seckman, and Reid to do shop drawings in conjunction with design.
In the “fast track” process, BCH had equipment being installed and ductwork being manufactured while the Engineers were getting AHCA approval. This enabled the project to be completed six months earlier than the project would have been completed in a normal construction program.
