Overall Comments

I would like to see BCH apoint a strong leader [ go to guy] to each project from the feild side. This person would need to be strong on pushing schedule and most inportant a person that understands code items and can support the engineers. I would also like to see this person take a active role in making sure ALL of BCH's work is coordinated with other trades from start to finish. I also think BCH need to do more training on all the difference system thay manage.

Scope Of Work

BayCare, the largest health system in the Tampa Bay area, is among a number of providers nationally that have taken advantage of positive industry trends to borrow money through bond issues to raise funds for the new St. Joseph’s North Hospital.

Construction of the three-story, 350,000 square foot hospital in North Tampa off Van Dyke Road will be opening in the Fall of 2009. This acute care hospital will feature 108 all private rooms, a full service 30 bed emergency department, and a technologically advanced all-digital paperless environment.

The BCH Mechanical team was responsible for the full Mechanical: HVAC, Plumbing, Sheet metal and Medical Gas systems for the entire facility. This was a $ 31-million dollar mechanical project for BCH Mechanical including: over 700,000 pounds of ductwork and complete chilled water, condenser water, steam, and heating water systems. This project strengthens BCH Mechanical’s reputation as being the “go to” contractor on all of the significant health care projects in the bay area.
